Why I Want to be a Teacher
Being a teacher is a very important role in a child’s life. You are a role model, a mentor and sometimes even a counselor. A teacher can make a major impact on a student’s life in the way that they teach their class and empower their students to become young leaders. I would like to become a teacher because I would like to make an impact on students life, I would also like to help students who struggle in a classroom environment to make better grades, as well as make a difference in emotionally challenged children. Being in the teacher role you have a very strong impact on a student’s life and how they will move further in their education. As a teacher you can be the difference maker just with a simple greeting at the door. I feel that as a teacher you can empower students to become young leaders and build self-confidence so that they can strive as a person. If the student is struggling in your class just making that extra effort to show that you care and that you are there for them to succeed and show them that they have what it takes. By giving the students tools with well-structured lesson plans to lead students in a direction that gives them the power to show their best work will help them be successful in school. These are a few things that I would like to implement and have this environment in my classroom. Helping students who struggle in a classroom environment is important to me. All children learn differently sometimes they need more one on one help and sometimes they just need a quiet place to work. I would like to have a place that my students who struggle in class have a place to go and I can help them be much more successful in school. If a student is struggling in class then they aren’t going to show up to school or even learn to their potential. If I can help these students realize that their potential and that they can actually do the work and give them the self confidence that they can be successful. That is one of my main goals as a teacher. My main passion above all passions is working with emotionally challenged kids to be successful in a classroom environment. I have been a paraprofessional for the last six years in a middle school and now a high school. I have worked with these children for all six years. I have seen a lot of success working with the children. Although they aren’t the easiest students to work with I seem to have a connection with them. It has been very rewarding to see some of the students that I have worked with over the past six years and how far they have come. To start a school year out completely contained in a classroom to being able to go to out classes and be successful in those classes has been very rewarding for me and has ultimately pushed me towards teaching. I believe teaching is a passion and a calling. It takes a special person with a lot of patients and a big heart to teach students on all levels. I have learned over the past six years I have learned that I have what it takes to work with students and help them be successful. I am happy to moving forward with this passion and hope to achieve my goal soon so that I can have an even greater impact on these students and help further their education and their dreams. |
